Edit Video by Editing Text

Delete words from the transcript to remove them from your video. It's that simple.

Instructions

Generate transcript

Run SPLICE analysis to create a word-level transcript.

Open Text Editor

Navigate to the Text-Based Editing panel.

Review the transcript

Each word is linked to its video timecode.

Select and delete

Highlight unwanted words or sentences and press Delete. The video will be cut accordingly.

Use Search & Replace

Find specific phrases and bulk-delete all occurrences.

Preview changes

Click Preview to see the edit impact before applying.

Undo if needed

Use Ctrl/Cmd+Z to undo. SPLICE maintains 50 levels of history.

Apply to timeline

Click Apply to create the edited sequence.

Pro Tips
  • Use Search to find filler words like 'um', 'uh', 'you know'
  • Delete entire sentences by selecting from period to period
  • Preview before applying to catch unintended cuts
